Preface to the electronic edition

The book doesn't mention when it was printed or compiled. The Library of Congress catalog indicates it might have been printed (or reprinted) in 1941. But the content is much older. The Swedish spelling predates the spelling reform of 1906 (af, öfver, hvad, godt) as well as the one of 1889 (jernväg, qvarn). There is no mention of radio, television, automobiles or even bicycles or velocipedes. Telephon (without the trailing -e) is listed. The title page says this is a "new and revised" edition, but the content makes it reasonable to assume this dictionary was compiled in the mid 1880s.

This book was scanned in July 2009. The two parts were bound as one volume, but here appear as two separate subvolumes, each with its own pagination. Each page was scanned in 600 dpi bitonal TIFF G4, and is presented on the web in 150 dpi grayscale.

After proofreading, in the hope to make the entries more readable for both humans and search engines, the text for an entire letter (as of February 2011 only A) has been semi-automatically processed to fill out compounds and phrases and rearrange the linebreaks, e.g.:
