Preface to the electronic edition

This English-Finnish technical and commercial dictionary was first published in 1952. The second edition from 1960 has been digitized in October 2012. The third edition appeared in 1965, the 6th in 1976, the 8th in 1983. The author, Yrjö Talvitie (1892-1970), was a Finnish chemist who received his PhD in 1927. He also published dictionaries for German, Russian, and Swedish.

Project Runeberg digitizes translation dictionaries under the assumption that they are not covered by copyright for 70 years, but only by catalog protection for 15 years.
