Preface to the electronic edition
Fridtjof Nansen's Rusland og
Freden was published in Norwegian in 1923 and this anonymous
English translation in the same year, just like a
German translation. Nansen was awarded the
Nobel Peace Prize in 1922 for his efforts with refugees following The
Great War. The book has been digitized in June 2009 by
Nasjonalbiblioteket, Norway, from where the scanned images and the OCR
text were copied to Project Runeberg in May 2019.
In chapter VII on page 101, Nansen refers
to "An interesting League of Nations report on the Economic Conditions
of Russia". This was published in 1922 and
can be found here.
This volume was scanned by the Norwegian National Library,
from where the scanned images were copied to Project Runeberg.
