Preface to the electronic edition
The author Peter Andreas Heiberg, a Dane of Norwegian ancestry, was
expelled from Denmark in 1799 and lived in exile in Paris when he
wrote in 1820 this treaty on the Danish constitution of 1665 (Wikipedia:
King's
Law). The book was digitized in July 2010 at the University of
Minnesota by Google, from where the scanned images and OCR text in
August 2022 were copied to Project Runeberg. The same digitization
(with colour images) can also be
found at
Hathi Trust.
In 1827, the author translated this book to his native Danish
language, extended it, and had it published in Norway (which since
1814 was removed from the kingdom of Denmark), as
Enevoldsmagtens Indførelse i Dannemark i
Aaret 1660 (1828).
This volume was scanned by Google Book Search,
from where the scanned images were copied to Project Runeberg.
We very much appreciate that they have made this possible
and want to encourage other digital library projects to
follow their example. Read more about Project Runeberg's
image sources.
