Preface to the electronic edition
The author Peter Andreas Heiberg, a Dane of Norwegian ancestry, was
expelled from Denmark in 1799 and lived in exile in Paris when he
wrote these nineteen letters, dated September to December 1821, on the
need to change the Danish constitution of 1665 (Wikipedia:
King's
Law). In 1822 the letters were published as a book. The 1822 book
was digitized in January 2008 at the Norwegian National library, from
where the scanned images and OCR text in August 2022 were copied to
Project Runeberg.
This volume was scanned by the Norwegian National Library,
from where the scanned images were copied to Project Runeberg.
