Preface to the electronic edition

J.W. Salmi compiled this Latin-Finnish dictionary in the 1930s, but died as a Finnish hero in the continuation war. The dictionary was made to completion by Edwin Linkomies (who had briefly been the prime minister of Finland during that war) and first published in 1954. The 8th edition (kahdeksas painos) was published in 1974 and digitized in October 2012.

Project Runeberg digitizes translation dictionaries under the assumption that they are not covered by copyright for 70 years, but only by catalog protection for 15 years.
