Förord till den elektroniska utgåvan
Charles Darwin blev världsberömd genom On the Origin of Species
by Means of Natural Selection (1859), vilket också skapade
efterfrågan på hans tidigare skrifter. Redan 1839 hade hans Journal
of researches into the natural history and geology of the countries
visited during the voyage of H.M.S. Beagle round the world
utkommit, som i senare utgåvor fick den smidigare titeln A
Naturalist's Voyage round the World. Det är tionde engelska
upplagan som legat till grund för denna svenska översättning från
1872. Boken har år 2016 digitaliserats av Kungliga biblioteket och
därifrån kopierats till
Litteraturbanken och i februari 2018 även till Projekt
Runeberg. OCR-texten från KB kopierades i april 2019 till Projekt
Runeberg för att kunna korrekturläsas.

from where the scanned images were copied to Project Runeberg.
