Gustav Mützel (1839-1893) was an artist who lived in Berlin and is famous for his paintings of animals, including the illustrations of A. E. Brehm's Thierleben ("Wildlife"). Project Runeberg has digitized the 2nd edition of the Swedish translation, Djurens lif (1882-1888).
Mützel is not listed in the Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie, nor in the 4th edition of Meyers Konversationslexikon.
